Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By using Buddy ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. The Service is operated by Deploy and Forget ("we", "us", "our"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What Buddy is

Buddy is a personal AI companion that operates through messaging channels and the web. It can remember information, manage tasks, help with calendars, work with connected Google Workspace files, create dashboards, generate files, and assist with work on your behalf. Buddy is powered by AI language models and may occasionally produce inaccurate information.

Buddy is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or emergency services. Do not rely on Buddy for critical decisions in these areas.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Buddy account. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent. On Household plans, the account owner must be an adult.

4. Your account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your access tokens and magic links.
• Do not share your access credentials with others.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• On Household plans, you are responsible for the people you add to your trust circle.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Buddy to:

• Harass, threaten, or harm other people
• Send spam or unsolicited messages through Buddy's outbound messaging
• Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or manipulate Buddy's system prompts or internal logic
• Use Buddy for any illegal activity
• Overload or abuse the service intentionally (e.g., automated scripting against the API)
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Use Buddy to generate content that violates third-party intellectual property

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. Connected services

When you connect Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, or other third-party services to Buddy, you authorize Buddy to access that data on your behalf according to the permissions you grant. Buddy is designed to use the least access reasonably needed for the feature you request, and you can disconnect connected services at any time.

Buddy uses Google-connected features only to provide the calendar, Drive, Sheets, and Docs workflows you explicitly request. Buddy mail is provisioned separately through a Buddy-managed inbound address and is not the same thing as Google account access. For Google-connected features, Buddy uses Google user data only to provide or improve user-facing features you request within Buddy.

By using connected services through Buddy, you represent that you have the right to connect those accounts and to authorize Buddy to access the data needed to perform the requested feature.

7. Household and trust circle

On Household plans, you can add family members or trusted people to your Buddy's trust circle. Each person gets their own private conversation with Buddy.

• The account owner controls who has access and at what level.
• Trust circle members may interact with shared data (e.g., family calendar, shared lists) but cannot access each other's private conversations.
• You are responsible for ensuring trust circle members are aware of and agree to these terms.

8. Pricing and billing

• Early access is free. No credit card required.
• When paid plans launch, pricing will be communicated in advance. Early access users will receive a discount.
• Paid plans are billed monthly. You can cancel at any time.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep Buddy available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Buddy depends on third-party services and infrastructure providers, including messaging, AI, hosting, and identity providers, that may experience downtime outside our control.

We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes to the service at any time. We will try to notify you of planned downtime in advance.

10. AI limitations

Buddy is powered by AI language models. While we strive for accuracy and helpfulness:

• Buddy may occasionally produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate responses.
• Buddy's web browsing may return outdated or incorrect information.
• Buddy's code execution runs in a sandbox but we do not guarantee the accuracy of generated calculations or data analysis.
• You should independently verify any important information Buddy provides.

11. Intellectual property

You own the content you create and share with Buddy (messages, notes, memories). We do not claim ownership of your data.

The Buddy brand, website, interface design, and underlying technology are owned by Deploy and Forget. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our software.

Buddy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google, WhatsApp, Telegram, or any other third-party platform unless we explicitly state otherwise.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deploy and Forget is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes but is not limited to: lost data, missed appointments, incorrect information, or actions taken by Buddy on your behalf.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

13. Account termination

• By you: You can cancel your account at any time. Your data will be retained for 30 days, then permanently deleted.
• By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with or without notice depending on the severity.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through Buddy. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
